The third night of the three city Get Up Yourself tour saw ROOT! in Brisbane for the first time. Most of the newer songs were played and given the locale, Crown Tower was changed to Jupiters in the song "Crown" [click here for a video].

Hey Root!ers.

Well this time I flew up to Brisbane and sure as hell beat the drive from Melb to Syd. Anyhow got to the gig and I set up the merch stand at about 7pm. The sound check was very promising with DC and the band sounding real clear, nice change to some of the very shit sound quality of the earlier gigs.

The venue was lets say cosey. It wasn't uber small but wasn't large either. I was hoping that we would pack the place but alas we didn't. I don't know what the official head count was but I think we would be lucky to have hit much more that 100. I was sorta disapointed Brisbance, shame Brisbane shame.

Having said that the fans that were there were awsome and a real treat to talk to and oh thanks for those that bought me beers, I do appreciate it.

Oh I had dinner with the band at about 8pm and we had fun talking the usual shit and there was an some intersting banter had about the selection of fried or plain rice. I proclaimed oh how bad it is to have looked behind the wizards curtain and see that it is just a man, LOL.

Anyhow the set was relatively the same as Sydney but there were a few local references thrown in like instead of Crown Tower Blues it was JUPITER Blues. A nice touch DC, he always caters for the locals.

Anyhow I expect the ROOT! fans to push the gig harder with their fellow TISM fans and bring them along next time.

I don't really have any other wild stories as it was a quick in and out, I hope to see you all again next time we are up in BrisVegas.
