I Wear My Prescription Sunglasses At Night

So you wanna meet somebody new? The pretty boys, they're too shallow for you?
Someone clever and interesting, well, that means me - who are you kidding?
I'm the one that you want, but I'm not the one that you'll want.

Yes I'm funny, I'm different, I'm smart. I turn conversation into art.
What you get is lots more than what you see, which is why you won't be going home with me
I'm the one that you want, but I'm not the one that you'll want.

I'm the one that you want, I'm the one that you want
I'm the one that you want, I'm the one that you want
The one that you want, yes indeed, but I'm not the one that you'll want.

I'm not your demographic[1],
I'm not your demographic,
I'm not your demographic,
I'm not your psychographic

Perception is reality[2], when you're stupid.

Don't look into my eyes, you might like what you find
Don't look into my eyes, you might like what you find
Don't look into my eyes, my leathal weapon's my mind
I wouldn't want to give you a fright,
I wear my prescription sunglasses at night[3]

Information

1) Debuted on June 17, 2007 at The Spanish Club.
2) Officially released on the Get Up Yourself single, August 23, 2008.

Notes

1) Where demographic has to do with age, class and race, psychographc has to do with interests, attitudes, and opinions.
2) "Perception is reality" is a phrase which summarises the belief that all you see and experience is only what's real. Things outside of your own personal experience simply don't exist in your perception of reality.
3) This is an allusion to the Cory Hart song "Sunglasses At Night".
