ROOT! RETURNS TO THE ESPLANADE FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 7TH
On Friday September 7th, step out of the salty wind from St.Kilda’s Upper Esplanade and down into the basement... because as The Ramones once said... "There’s something down there"... ROOT! will be skulking in the bowels of the famous building, playing tracks from their legendarily yet-to-be-released album Root Supposed He Was Out Of The Question.
ROOT! are the first band confirmed in what promises to be a special themed bill across all the Espy’s band rooms, with later details to be announced. At this stage, ROOT! are scheduled to appear FREE at 10.15 in the downstairs bar - entry to the right of the front steps.
This may be subject to change, depending on the rest of the evening’s line-up. Up to date details will be posted here.
There is no further news regarding the fate of Root Supposed He Was Out Of The Question. Will it ever be released?

Cover art for the album Root Supposed He Was Out Of The Question has just been released along with some information. The album will be out soon and a possible forthcoming recital to be held at The Esplanade Hotel.

COMING: THE NEW ROOT! ALBUM
This is the new ROOT! album Root Supposed He Was Out Of The Question.
The album was withdrawn at the last minute prior to the group’s recent performance at The Esplanade Hotel, amidst conjecture over its now "elastic" release date.
ROOT! performed a spicily brusque set to a large, watchful audience (see photo) but refused to be drawn on rumours of their crippling perfectionism and internecine disputes.
Rumours are afoot, however, of an imminent return to the Esplanade, and with it the possibility that Root Supposed He Was Out Of The Question. could finally be available.

Last night, ROOT! took the stage at The Esplanade Hotel and played through ten songs. The set included the new I Wish I Was Tex Perkins and all the songs from their first show. The order of songs differed only slightly but noticably did not include a Message. I Wear My Prescription Sunglasses At Night was followed by a short story about a man who fell in love with a woman working at Dan Murphy's, a liquor outlet and Crown had a different ending.
