December 21, 2007
Tonight marks the final performance of ROOT! for 2007 as they hang up their cowboy hats, put away their guitars and amps and settle in to the holiday season. Catch them in a unique acoustic set at the Corner Hotel at 8:00pm tonight. Tickets are $25 (that's $22 + $3 booking fee).
If you happened to be one of the lucky few who had a Merideth Festival ticket and stuck around for ROOT! please send in your reviews of the gig via the contact page. For those of you unavailable to make it to The Espy for the launch of "Root Supposed He Was Out Of The Question" it is available for purchase via the band's MySpace site. Please, also send in your review of the album.
For those of you interested enough, the archive section of this site has received some well needed upkeep and has got it, too. Information on all the recent gigs is there for your digestion. Enjoy.
ROOT! - ROOT! - read all about it. Several pre-album launch articles about the band were written:
Patrick Donovan and Andrew Murfett wrote about them in The Age - includes a quote from DC. (Clicky)
Someone at PBS 106.7FM wrote about the gig. (Clicky)
And someone at thedwarf.com.au wrote a decent summary of the band, the album and the gig. (Clicky)

Two days ago, ROOT! once again hit the stage at The Esplanade Hotel where they rocked and rolled through a fantastic set as they launched their debut album "Root Supposed He Was Out Of The Question". The event was much enjoyed by all as DC displayed his new roam friendly cordless mic. and the band sported matching suits with roses up and down them.
The ROOT! Compendium is seeking any who were in attendance to send in their impressions of the event through the contact page. While you're there, send in a review of the album.

DC and Henri played for Triple R's Melbourne BBQ Day which featured Henri on guitar and DC on vocals. TimChuma provides the commentary for the event: [It] was a spoken word piece called "My BBQ" with DC Root going over the guest list for his hypothetical, but not very practical celebrity BBQ. He also stuck the boot into Nick Cave and Tom Yorke [sic] on how they are expected to write depressing music with everything going so good for them these days.
Tim even managed to capture some pictures of the event (clicky) and you may be interested in strolling down memory lane with his photos of the first ever ROOT! concert at The Spanish Club way back in June 2007 (clicky).
